Zara Freeman M.OST Do nd bsc. (hons)
I graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2011 with a Master's degree in Osteopathy and am fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.
Before training as an osteopath, I completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Sussex. This background has given me a strong understanding of the relationship between physical health and emotional wellbeing, helping me take a holistic and patient-centred approach to care.
Since qualifying, I have undertaken additional professional training in dry needling and kinesio taping, enabling me to offer a broad range of treatment options tailored to each individual's needs.
Outside of the clinic, I spend much of my time with my horse and dogs, which keeps me active and further fuels my interest in movement, musculoskeletal health and performance.

Areas of Expertise
Alongside general osteopathic practice, I have developed particular expertise in a number of specialist areas — bringing a depth of knowledge and a compassionate, adapted approach to each.
I have a specialist interest in Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS), Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders, Fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, Long Covid, and persistent and chronic pain presentations. I understand that living with these conditions can be physically and emotionally challenging, and I adapt treatment to what feels safe, supportive and appropriate for your body.
I have a particular interest in treating sports injuries and helping patients return to the activities they enjoy — whether that involves exercise, work, day-to-day function or sport. I work with patients of all activity levels, from recreational exercisers to competitive athletes.
I specialise in supporting horse riders, helping to improve mobility, posture, comfort and performance both in and out of the saddle. As a horse owner myself, I bring first-hand understanding of the physical demands of riding and the importance of rider biomechanics.
The Treatment Room
Treatments take place in my osteopathic treatment room, located at my home in Shenley village, Hertfordshire. The room has been equipped for osteopathic practice — providing a quiet, comfortable, and professional environment for your appointments.
Unlike a busy clinic, you'll benefit from a calm, unhurried setting where the focus is entirely on you. There's easy parking directly outside, and the room is conveniently located in the heart of the village.
My Approach
I take the time to listen carefully and understand the wider picture of your health — not just your symptoms. Every treatment plan is tailored specifically to you, your body, and your goals.
My treatments are grounded in current clinical evidence and best practice, combined with the hands-on skills developed through years of training, experience and ongoing professional development.
Drawing on my background in psychology, I recognise the deep connection between physical and emotional wellbeing — particularly for those living with chronic conditions. My aim is always to provide care that feels safe, supportive and effective.
